Yesterday was EDU 702’s last class. We had our proposal presentation. While listening to my classmates’ presentations, I realized that I could understand and differentiate different kinds of research methods. I guess, by doing the assignments, reading and listening to the lectures, I understand more on how the topics now. My presentation was a real short one. I said what I had to say, and thank God Dr. Izaham didn’t ask any questions. I was kind of sad to end this class. I had a really good time learning. I really value the knowledge I gain. I guess, going back to school at this age, makes me appreciate more on the importance of learning, unlike when I took my first degree ages ago.

I would like to thank Dr. Izaham, our cool lecturer for teaching us this semester. you have been great. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Research proposal. When I read the proposal outline where it is stated that it should be between 10 – 15 pages long, my first thought was, can I even write a proposal that long?? Then I started on the proposal, I am very lucky to have great and helpful classmates who gave me a lot of ideas and pointers to write. It started as a mere 10 pages long, but ended up to be 15 pages. Then, something very confusing happened, it seemed that my literature review was not like the others wrote. When I asked around, they said that they didn’t do the way I did it. My heart nearly stopped. The dateline is so near. It took me almost a whole night to re-do that part. When, I’ve finally finished it, I e-mailed both versions to Dr. Izaham and ask for his comment. Thank God I sent a second draft. He gave me many comments to improve on my proposal. And he also told me that both versions of the review were okay. I guess, it was a blessing in disguised that I got the panic attack. I got to send a second draft, and from the comments I got, I could improve my proposal even more.

I had a test today. I have been very nervous about the test for more than a week. I am not an exam taker. And I had a hard time studying and memorizing the facts. I have no idea on how the test is going to be. All I know that its format is subjective, close book test.
When I took the test, the questions were not that hard, but I can’t seem to remember what I had read.
After the test, we got back our article review assignment and I was not happy with my marks. Maybe I took the assignment lightly at the time. I should be more serious and diligent.  And I vow to do better on my research proposal.
